Victory City AZ is a church where every person is seen, valued, and activated—and that includes children with unique needs. The Children's Disability Team exists to provide safe, loving, and Spirit-filled support for children with physical, developmental, sensory, or behavioral challenges, ensuring they can fully participate in the life of the church.

This team is more than support—it’s ministry. Volunteers are compassionate advocates, patient shepherds, and joy-filled leaders who reflect the heart of Jesus in every interaction.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for children with disabilities during services and events
  • Collaborate with parents to understand each child’s needs, strengths, and spiritual potential
  • Create sensory-friendly environments and adaptive learning tools for worship, teaching, and play
  • Partner with Kids Ministry leaders to integrate children into age-appropriate classes and experiences
  • Offer spiritual encouragement, emotional safety, and practical assistance with grace and dignity
  • Maintain clear communication with families, volunteers, and ministry leaders
  • Support training and development for volunteers serving children with disabilities
  • Celebrate each child’s identity, purpose, and spiritual gifts
Qualifications

To serve on the Children's with Disabilities Team, volunteers should demonstrate:

  • A heart for inclusion and a calling to serve children with diverse needs
  • Experience in special education, therapy, childcare, or ministry (preferred but not required)
  • Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
  • Ability to adapt teaching and engagement strategies to individual needs
  • Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and respectful care
  • Willingness to be trained in CPR/First Aid and church safety protocols
  • Alignment with Victory City AZ’s culture of restoration, honor, and activation
  • Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and a desire to minister with compassion

Additional Requirements:

  • Background Check
  • Certification
  • Special Education Teacher
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree (preferred)
  • CPR, and complete child safety training
  • Must be a member of Victory City AZ or become a new member
  • Must commit to Sunday service rotations, weeknight services, and events
  • Must be able to lift, assist, and engage physically as needed

  • Tech-savvy (to use check-in system)
Education
  • Certification
  • Special Education Teacher
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree (preferred)
