At Victory City AZ, we believe that even the smallest hearts can carry the biggest callings. The Sparks Toddler Ministry exists to create a safe, nurturing, and joy-filled space where children ages 2–5 encounter God’s love, begin to understand their identity in Christ, and build foundational truths that will shape their lives.
This ministry isn’t babysitting—it’s early discipleship. Sparks leaders are spiritual shepherds, creative communicators, and safety-minded stewards who partner with families to ignite faith in our youngest generation.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that introduce toddlers to God’s love, Word, and presence
- Lead worship, prayer, and play with intentionality and spiritual sensitivity
- Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that reflects excellence and care
- Train and oversee volunteers to serve with joy, patience, and spiritual authority
- Partner with parents to reinforce spiritual growth and developmental milestones
- Collaborate with the Family Ministries team to align curriculum and vision
- Celebrate each child’s uniqueness and speak life into their identity and purpose
- Support special events, family outreach, and seasonal programming for toddlers
Qualifications
To serve in Sparks, team members should demonstrate:
- A heart for children and a calling to early childhood ministry
- Experience in childcare, education, or children’s ministry (preferred but not required)
- Ability to communicate biblical truths in creative, age-appropriate ways
- Strong leadership, patience, and emotional intelligence
- Commitment to safety protocols, cleanliness, and child development standards
- Willingness to be trained in CPR/First Aid and church safety procedures
- Alignment with Victory City AZ’s values, culture, and spiritual DNA
- Joyful, Spirit-led presence that reflects the love of Jesus
Additional Requirements:
- Background Check
- CPR and complete child safety training
- Must be a member of Victory City AZ or actively pursuing membership
- Must commit to Sunday service rotations, weeknight services, and events
- Must be able to lift, bend, and engage physically with toddlers as needed
Experience
- 2 yrs. Children's Ministry or Childcare (stay at home parent = yes)
- Tech-savvy (to use check-in system)
Education
- High School Diploma
- Certification (optional)
- Bachelors Degree (preferred)
